My pay cheque is lower than expected?

If you made more than $45,900 in 2012 you might notice a change in your net pay in the beginning of 2013.

This is because of the deductions for Canada Pension Plan and Employment Insurance. If you made more than $45,900 in 2012 you would have reached the maximum amount for EI contributions and if you made more than $50,085 you would have also reached the maximum amount for CPP contributions.
